Our new report, Classrooms and Communities, examines how California schools and community-based organizations (CBOs) are partnering to address youth mental health needs. Drawing from interviews with 13 CBOs, the research highlights successful strategies—from trauma-informed alternatives to discipline to on-campus crisis response—while identifying systemic barriers like unsustainable CYBHI reimbursement rates (p.5) and gaps in small districts (p.5). With 64% of teachers seeking trauma training (p.19), the findings offer a roadmap for strengthening collaborations.
