In this webinar, the staff from Youth Forward will share with you two opportunities to apply for grant funding for adult and youth services this summer and early fall. The Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GOBIZ) will release a RFA for the Community Reinvestment Grants program to fund services in 6 areas: mental health, job placement, legal services for reentry, system navigation services, substance abuse treatment, and linkages to medical care. This fall, GOBiz intends to make $28.9 million in grants to nonprofits and local health departments. In addition, the Center at Sierra Health Foundation and the Dept of Health Care Services will issue a RFA for the Youth Substance Abuse Disorder Prevention Program, a $37 million grant program that supports youth-led prevention efforts led by nonprofit organizations. Both of these new funding streams place a priority on making grants to organizations working in communities of color that have been impacted by the War on Drugs. Participants will learn about the background of these grant programs, their priorities and application process.
Presenter: Youth Forward is a policy advocacy organization based in Sacramento that has been working to shape new funding streams generated by cannabis tax revenues since 2017.
